The San Diego's Outstanding Teen pageant is the mentor program of the Miss San Diego pageant for contestants preparing for the future Miss San Diego title. Scholarship awards are given to those talented young women who excel and are presented the title of San Diego's Outstanding Teen.

Scholarships totaling over $45 million have been given to young women selected to represent their local area, state, and nation. Young women between the ages of 13 and 17 (and a high school junior) are eligible. This pageant operates under the guidelines of the Miss America's Outstanding Teen pageant while stressing individuality, communication skills, personal development, and physical fitness.
