    WHEREAS, Arianna Afsar has throughout the years performed at many Poway community events, captivating those in attendance with her beautiful voice and wonderful talent, and

    WHEREAS, although Arianna lives in Rancho Penasquitos, she is considered an adopted Powegian due to her annual appeances at community events such as Poway Days, the 4th of July Fireworks show, and her participation in the dedication of City Hall; and

    WHEREAS, Arianna has achieved great success in middle school by making the Honor Roll every sememester; and

    WHEREAS, Arianna has won over 50 talent awards for her singing, performing and dancing; and

    WHEREAS, Arianna coordinated, formed, and is managing the local "Adopt A Grandfiend" Program; and

    WHEREAS, Arianna won Miss San Diego's Outstanding Teen in February 2005 and Miss California's Outstanding Teen in June 2005 and

    WHEREAS, Arianna has made the City of Poway and the surrounding communities very proud of her 1st runner up title in the Inagural Miss America's Outstanding Teen in August 2005.

    NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mickey Cafagna, Mayor of the City of Poway, on behalf of the entire Poway City Council, do hereby wish Arianna a very happy 14th birthday, and look forward to her future successes and accomplishments.
